That's expensive!

Not sure on neutering prices, but nails you can do yourself and even the teeth cutting.

When I was 15 I had to take my dwarf lop Chloe to the vet to have her teeth cut as her jaw broke when she was young, I feared I was going to have to put her down because of the expensive of it all and so the nurse showed me how to do it.

Go once or twice and what carefully how they do it - their is no reason why they have to go out the back to do it. Have a look at cutters - they just like dog nail cutters (or they used to be)

Nail cutter is a 2 person job until you know how, I have a few bunnies who I have to have my daughter or other half to help me with as they hate it. But a big towel helps, rap them up in it and put them carefully on their back in your arms (like a baby) and get someone carefully but quickly to cut the back claws and then the front.

I cut all my friends claws for them if they want me to or help them out doing it.

Have you a Pet Vaccination Clinic close by? The cost of a spay is £35.00.

Well hows this for a difference

£65-70 female spay
355 - 60 male neutering
£4.78 for teeth clipping
£8.04 nail clipping

Although she did say nails and teeth together normally £10

slightly different from £24 for teeth and £12. for nails let alone £101 for female spay and £81.41 for male spay.

Espically happy as this vets has a fantastic small animals vet who deals with all fluffies so thats the chinchillas taken care of 2.
Definitley pays to shop around

and this vet is only about 1 mile further down the road! :thumb-up:

Lady Venus - June 17, 2008 07:08 PM (GMT)
