I am so upset. I have just been to the cage to get Tiny to give him his evening feed and could not find him in the nest.
Then I noticed him the the cage, he must have crawled out of the nest. I picked him up quickly but he was already cold and was hardly breathing.
I went to wake the children up so that they could say goodbye but he'd gone before I got to the top of the stairs. I woke them anyway and we all had a good cry and said goodbye.
This afternoon he seemed to be getting stronger, he took his feed really well. I really thought he might make it.
I've been so busy this evening that I hadn't checked on him for a few hours. I feel really really awful, because, if I had noticed earlier, I might have saved him.
