Hi
I final talked my hubby in to getting another bunny three years after my first beloved bun Molly (or minky to her friends as she was a minx) passed away.
After wanting a bun for a really long time reading all the books (complete house rabbit ect) Molly came along unexpectedly. My boss's daughter was a vet and had had a stry bun come in and was looking for a good home for her as she would have been put down :angry1: :angry1: . I talked hubby in to going to see her and it was love at first sight with this tubby black 'mini' lop with atittude. She was called mini but when we got her home soon realised that she was not mini and the hutch we had go was far to small. Hubby set about builting a delux threes storey town house with hot tub and sky bar (only joking about the hot tub and sky bar). Molly share our lives for three years but was quiet old when we got her. She learn to stand on her back legs (she must have been in a eally small hutch before) and to wrap us round her paw. In the end she was deaf and blind but happy until she had two growths on her shoulder and dewlap which made her unhappy and stop eating.
So three years on we went to Tameside rabbit rescue and came home with Bertie and Gerty. Bertie is just over a year old white cashmere with grey pointing castrated. He's a shy little fellow who was brought in to the shelter with his brother as the pet shop had made a mistake with the sex of his mum and dad. he had to be separted from his brother as he was bullying him. Gerty is also just over a year old and is a large agouti with blue eyes and very large up ears. Gerty was found starving and had to be feed up. Gerty is really responding to TLC and comes and sits on the sofa with us.
I was hoping the rescue centre were going to bond them for me, but unfortuately there are some really bad people in this world and the poor lady had had 10 and 12 rabbits in in a very short space of time. we are trying wih bonding but it not gone very well there were gettingon okay but gerty is bullying bertie (one of the main reasons i joined the forum hoping to get some advise on bonding. Gerty is going to be do next week so we are hoping that might help.
Cheers HB

Hi Hunny Bunny, :hello:
Welcome to Rabbit Tales. :bunjig:
I'm sorry to hear you lost Molly. :(
Your new buns new house sounds great. It would be great if you have some pictures of it.
We have some well experienced bonders here who will be happy to help you. Rabbit bonding can be a little tricky sometimes, other times they just accept eachother straight away, without any commotion at all.
I look forward to chatting. Please don't hesitate to ask anything if you have any problems/queries. :bunhug:

Hello and welcome.
So sorry to hear about Molly but she had a good life with you by the sounds of it.
With regard to bonding, if you would like to pm me, or start a thread in rabbit chat, outlining the steps you have already taken, I will try and point you in the right direction.

Wow what great welcome
Gerty is recovering well from her spay. The nurse called her wonder bunny as she hadn't seen a bun eat so much after coming round from a spay and a teeth file. so bonding will commence again in a couple of weeks.
so fingers crossed they might be friends. i'll start a thread on bunny chat.
