Title: Today
Vickie - November 24, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
I bonded a giant bunny named Katie with a bonded pair of netherland dwarfs called Cotton and Casper :bounce:
Beautiful bunnies :D
Kim - November 24, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
Awww how fab!! Was it a smooth bonding?
Vickie - November 24, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
Initially Katie was being a bit of a moo, popped Katie in a carrier and let her back out when she was calmer. Once the door was opened, Casper and Cotton piled in the carrier with her.
I was happy for them to go off as a bonded trio, have since spoken to Vicky and they are happy and calm.

She did a great job! Thanks so much Vickie.

This is them on the 2nd day - still in their bonding compound. They've got a little bit more space now and all is still going well.
Can't thank Vickie enough for her time and patience, she really was brilliant (and makes a great toastie!)

The big one (Katie) is top dog. Cotton (the little black one) is definitely 'bottom dog'. Casper's still a bit wary and tries it on now and again, but katie puts him in his place.
They're all busily digging in a huge cushion I got them today.

Awwww, what a wonderful pic, I'm so pleased I was able to supervise them making friends. I look forward to more pics :bounce:

Would it normally be the bigger rabbit out of a group that is 'top dog' or doesn't size matter?
Vikki - November 30, 2008 01:49 AM (GMT)
From what I've read, size doesnt matter. From what I've seen, it does!!!

Glad it all went well! It can be an nightmare ( or so I am informed!) I took the 'easy' option after taking in one bunny that was on a one way trip to vet, I went against my view and bought onethe next day! I no, I no,I tryed rspca and they didnt have any! Anyway, I am so glad it went well.

Vickie
Anytime you're passing by come and have a cup of tea with us all, I'd love you to see them in situ. Give me a call and I'll tell you whereabouts we are.
They all now have 'full run' of downstairs. Katie and Casper both come through to the lounge now. Katie wasn't keen on letting Casper sit underneath 'her' chair under the dining room table, so I've moved all the chairs away from the table and they're scattered around the room so there's no one place they both want to sit (its like we're about to have a kids party and play musical chairs!) The silly thing is that Katie will lie down under the table and not bother about casper running around at all, but he insists on going up to her, nudging her, then running away. But there's no fur flying, he's just toying with her - he seems to want her to play with him.
Cotton gets to the door then runs back into the kitchen, but she gets a bit further in every time, so I'm sure she'll get there soon. She and Katie spend hours grooming each other. In fact it looks like they're trying to eat each others eyeballs  but they both seem to enjoy it.

I would love to come and visit - thank you. I'll give you a ring soon. I am so looking forward to seeing them, having a soft spot for Casper and Cotton, I was worried about hurting their feelings before the bonding. They sound like very spoilt bunnies, happy and settled.
