bunny mummy - January 8, 2009 10:52 PM (GMT)
Hi all,
Can someone tell me the full list of non toxic plants for bunnies! I can't find my list. Next door have got a dog - and did not think to put up a fence etc, so the poor thing has been tethered til WE put up a fence.. In doing so, we have had to cut down 3 large bushes. I want to re-stock our garden but I can't find my non toxic plant list! :aaarggh:

I have Carnation on my poisons list. I think it's because it's grown from bulbs and all those grown from bulbs are poisonous (or so I read somewhere).
I also have -
Geranium, California (Senecio petasitis)-whole plant
on my list, don't know if it's the same thing though.

I do know that daisies, geranium and carnations are toxic - from what I can recall, that's why we dont have any. In lots of cases its the bulbs are seeds - but I do know that these three are toxic as we also had a privet hedge at the time and that is toxic.

I thought it was, I printed the toxic list of plants from the internet as I lost my list, but It doesn't show trees and large shrubs. I did see that Gladioli was a no no and we have some of that in pots - as it doesn't stipulate bulb, it appears to be the whole plant. It's very tricky isn't it.

Ooh that's odd. The list I have was posted a while back on another forum. Maybe it's incorrect then !!! All very confusing !!

I agree Mel, I have a leaflet from the RWAF somewhere with some info on, I'll dig it out.

 Thank you very much for emailing the list. We have been 3 years ( well four this year) since our last house bn went to bunny heaven, it seems bizarre in a way to check the list before I have ordered plants/shrubs for the garden after cutting down the trees to make way for the fence we had to have erected. Thanks again. Why don't you post it on the forum so all will benefit then.
