Title: Fonzy is going to lose his Plums
PinkBunny - January 9, 2009 09:28 AM (GMT)
He'll be my first bun to go off to be deplummed next Tues
I've booked him in with Coventy Pet Vacc Clinic and I know they are bunny savvy but I'm so nervous. :shock1: He was the one we kept from Frosty and Flopsy's first litter and he's sooo gorgeous.
Can I please have some 'good luck with losing your plums' vibes for Fonzy please?? :bunhug:
...and also some reassuranace ones for me?
But I'm looking forward to bonding (or attempting to bond, lol, help Vickie!!!) him with a lovely lady bun (dunno if it will be Fudge his Sister or Flopsy his Mom yet)when he's all better so he won't be a lonely bun anymore, YAY!!

Awwww good luck Fonzy. :bunhug: It will all be worth it in the end.
He'll be fine Shelly. Sending reassuring vibes for you.

Aww, i know its such a worry  .
I the way of reassurance, i had Giles done yesterday. I got him home, sat him on a pillow on the couch, and he hopped off  . He proceeded to scent mark everything in the room  and binky about  . He then settled in for a nose rub, and decided to snuggle in closer as soon as i stopped rubbing (must have felt he deserved sympathy, but after the binkies i find it hard to believe he was unhappy ;) ). He just bounced right back.
All of the buns i have had done have been fine, although Giles was the one who recovered quickest. The main thing is keeping them warm and ensuring they eat and poop.
Lots of vibes for Fonzy :bunhug: and calming ones for you

That's why I booked him in there instead of the local one, I know Fatfluffs uses them a lot. But I am still a bit worried.

Oh good luck Fonzy !!!! Lots of deplumming healing vibes coming your way !!
He'll be fine, Smudge made a nice quick recovery when he was done and amazingly didn't have the hump with me !!! hehe

Is it today that Fonzy is being deplummed?
Loads of healing vibes for you if it is. :bunhug:
PinkBunny - January 13, 2009 07:39 PM (GMT)
Yes it was today.
He wasn't a happy bunny when I put him in the cat carrier but he soon calmed down. All was fine when I phoned at 1pm.
He was quiet driving home in the car and I couldn't wait to get him out for cuddles. He was absolutely fine when we got home, slightly quiet and wouldn;t eat anything, not even a shreddie, which he usually loves.
But he did keep nudging me for nose rubs which he doesn't normally do so he must have really needed cuddles, lol :bunhug:
He's had a good hop around the livingroom and I've just put him to bed with lots of lovely greens, celery, apple and carrot. And I've made him a cumfy soft bed too.
Thankyou for all your well wishing vibes, they worked!!! lol hehe

Glad it all went well. Give him a nose rub from me !!! :bunhug:

Yes he's eating now, and pooping and weeing. Although he's wee'd all over the lovely soft comfy bed I made for him  daft bun, he won't want to be snuggling into that now. hehe hehe
Bunnysnug - January 13, 2009 09:14 PM (GMT)
Glad he is ok :bunhug: :bunhug: :bunhug: :bunhug:

I took Fonzy for his check up today (and apart from the fact that the Vet Nurse had no idea how to handle a rabbit, tut tut  ) he was fine. :bounce:
So he's gone outside again now, into a new new 2 level hutch. But he hasn't ventured down the ramp yet into the bottom hehe
Funny Bun!!
Fudge is a bit younger than Fonzy so she will go to be neutered next month when she's 6 months old and then begins the bonding process. :aaarggh: I might have to kidnap Vickie for a weekend to help me hehe hehe

Awww so pleased he's recovered so well.
A lot of buns take a while to use a ramp. Try putting a trail of food/veg on the ramp to entice him down.
