Becky's Bunnies - February 21, 2009 10:02 AM (GMT)
:hello:
i have managed to get some papaya Enzyme from holland and barett but the ingredients are Papain 15mg, Protease 2mg, Alpha Amylase 2mg, Papaya Fruit 1mg.

Is this ok for my little ones?.

I don't know Becky  I just have the oxbow ones. I've just looked at the ingredients but it just says papaya powder, pineapple powder ,stearic acid & something else
That's not much help is it? :laugh1:

I've never used them so I'm afraid I don't know either. I'm sure there was someone else on here that bought papaya tablets from H+B.

Thankyou for getting back to me :) .

Ive had a look at the hay experts brand and they are different from the ones i have. Mine look like white tablets (and taste horrible) and the others look round and orange  .
think im gonna play safe and get the ones from the hay experts x

I get mine from the Hay Experts too.

I have read (don't ask me where!!) that papaya actually does not help hair balls but are high in natural sugars and therefore not too good for buns so I've not bothered to use them but had no problems so far.

Is there actually some scientific evidence that says they do help in any way?

I'm not criticising, just wondered really

I think ur right, it says on the hayexperts something like not proven or could help reduce fur balls something like that anyway :) .

Our SophieAnnie is part woolly back, and my Shauny loves to lick her, ive noticed some of his poos contain fur, so im gonna give them a go- would be brill if they did work.

I have found it really helps with hairballs, the reason i put Lynx on them is because he started having a lot of fur in his poop (sorry lol) and since i have been giving them he has hardly had any fur in poop! :bounce:

Furry Poo!! lovely hehe

I've never had furry poo with any of mine, will let you all know if I ever spot any hehe hehe

*Mel* - February 23, 2009 10:55 AM (GMT)
Mine haven't had furry poo either hehe

Kim - February 23, 2009 06:18 PM (GMT)
By furry poo i mean when they arent round, they look more like a raindrop or similar hehe

Becky's Bunnies - February 28, 2009 01:48 PM (GMT)
just got mine from the hayexperts.

SophieAnnie loves them (typical cause she has the long hair and Shauny is always grooming her) And my fussy, picky lil man looks at me like im trying to poision him- grrr :aaarggh:

Kim - February 28, 2009 02:32 PM (GMT)
Keep trying him, it sometimes takes them a while to get used to it :)

Becky's Bunnies - March 4, 2009 10:00 PM (GMT)
Yay!!!

After days of trying the lil man is eating them.

I think it was one of too things.. he hated me breaking them in half (it says to do this to release aroma).

So tried him on a a whole one.... and i'm not sure if it was because it wasn't broken, or because SophieAnnie-Windwhistle was heading straight towards it :laugh1:. He ate it faster than anything  .

And has become a lover of them  - meh men!.
