Title: Shamu

Heard on the news earlier it's not the first time someone has died :( An activist was interviewed, he said he can't be released back into the wild and if it was a dog, bear, cat, etc, it would have been shot. I so hope nothing happens to this beautiful creature.

I share your concern Vickie :( From what i have read I think the worst that will happen is Tillikum will be transferred to another park, i dont think he will be euthanised becuase he is a wild animal and all trainers and workers know the great risk when working with these huge intelligent creatures. Tillikum weighs 12,000Ibs and is 22 feet long, his pectoral flippers alone are 6ft so any amount of 'play' can be fatal due to his massive size, its so sad this has happened :(

It is such a sad thing to have happened. I've been to Sea World and seen the show and it is incredible how much power they have. There is always going to be a huge risk (not wanting to take anything away from the tragedy of the situation at all) and I'm sure all involved are aware of that. :(
