Josef Fritzl, the Austrian who imprisoned his daughter and had seven children by her is upset at being portrayed as a "monster" by the media, his lawyer has revealed.

Fritzl, who kept daughter Elisabeth and three of their children imprisoned in a cellar beneath his house, has been allowed a TV in his cell.
His lawyer Rudolf Mayer said Fritzl was closely watching coverage of his crime and was disturbed at how he was being described.
Meanwhile prosecutor Christiane Burkheiser met Fritzl face-to face for the first time since his arrest in Austria last week.

Authorities say that 73-year-old Fritzl initially confessed to imprisoning and raping his daughter but has since remained silent. He has not yet been charged and remains in pre-trial detention.
Fritzl and Ms Burkheiser did not discuss the allegations that he raped his daughter for more than two decades, an official said.
But he agreed during their two-hour talk to provide further testimony about the family. Further questioning is not planned for another two weeks.
The underground family came to light on April 19 when the oldest child, 19-year-old Kerstin, was taken to hospital with a severe infection in Amstetten, west of Vienna.
Doctors, unable to find medical records for the woman, appealed on TV for her mother to come forward. Fritzl then accompanied Elisabeth to the hospital on April 26.
He told police then that he had fathered seven children with Elisabeth - three kept all their lives in the cellar, three raised above ground by him and his wife, and one who died as an infant.
